The fully captivated version of the original minibend®
Product Description
minibend® E is a fully captivated (contact, dielectric and jacket), ruggedized version of the original minibend® that is suitable for use in spacecraft applications, severe environments and high density packages. The epoxy captivation of contact, dielectric and cable to connector body restricts connector interface movement due to axial and radial forces plus provides the cable /connector junction ruggedization and pull strength of the minibend® R. The minibend® E contact will not shift more than .005 when subjected to 10 lbs. push force (cabled) or 5 lbs. push force uncabled. Retractable Nut for positive mating of SMA interface during installation. All materials used in minibend® E assemblies meet or exceed NASA TML and CVCM requirements for use in spacecraft applications.

Phase Versus Flexure Reference Data
Astrolab performed phase tests on hundreds of minibend® cable assemblies. Following are two standard Astrolab tests with the corresponding data. In test one, minibend® E–6 assembly's were flexed 90° in a 0.25 inch radius directly behind the connector. In test two, minibend® E–16 assembly's were flexed 180° with a 0.4 inch radius in the middle. Typical data is listed here:
